Mountaineer Mission Corps
The purpose of the Mountaineer Mission Corps is as follows:
  • To provide a mechanism to match ministry/service needs for future volunteer efforts.
  • To provide recognition for volunteers who are involved in volunteer missions outside their own church.
  • To encourage and train churches to be involved 'in sending a team of volunteers on mission.

Mountaineer Mission Corps Recognition:

The fourth Sunday of February is designated on the Southern Baptist Convention calendar as "Volunteers in Missions Sunday". On this day, we would like to request that each of the churches affiliated with the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists dedicate a few moments to recognize members who have rendered volunteer mission service outside their local church field.
In order to make this a special occasion, the WVCSB will provide a beautiful lapel pin and certificate of appreciation to be presented to each member who is nominated for recognition by the pastor or the associational missionary.
