The West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists has emphasized Sunday School as a base program of the church since its inception more than 35 years ago. Each annual convention calendar has included training plans designed to equip lay leaders and church staff to utilize Sunday School to build the Kingdom of God.

The Sunday School emphasis is led by Dr. Greg Wrigley. He is always pleased to respond to special requests from churches, associations, and individuals seeking to improve the quality of their Sunday School Ministry.

Dr. Wrigley's assignments in the Sunday School area includes training and consultations for General Officers which includes the pastor, the educational staff, Sunday School Directors, Outreach Directors, Division and Department Directors and Sunday School Secretaries. In addition, he is responsible for enlisting and training specially trained workers who can do consultations and conferences for adult leaders, student leaders, children leaders, and preschool leaders. Besides these leadership training areas, Dr. Wrigley also helps churches study their current space and equipment to determine possible new uses for existing space and to identify their need for new space and equipment.

Sunday School is also a ministry of West Virginia's ten associations. The Sunday School Director works hand in hand with the associations by providing training events for their training teams and by serving as a faculty member as needed and requested.
