Randy Spurgeon came to the State Music Directorís position on April 21st, 2008 after having served in local churches since 1976. He has served as pianist, youth director, minister of music, youth choir director, Awana leader, Awana Commander, Sunday school teacher, Adult Choir director, Deacon and Associate Pastor. From 1978 - 1998 his ministry was for the most part bivocational. From 1998 to 2008 he served full time as Associate Pastor for Westmoreland Baptist Church in Huntington, WV.

Randy is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in music and has taken classes towards his Masters as well as Bible classes at the Tri State Bible College in Ohio. He has also served on various committees in the WV State convention. Randy is very excited about using what talents God has given to him and the experiences that he has learned over the years in ministry to serve and meet the needs in our convention.
